Rewalsar Lake and Oldest History of Rewalsar

Oldest History of Rewalsar

rewalsar lake

Tsopema, Rewalsar, or Tri Sangam….whatever be the name of this sacred town, there is no denying its sanctity! Located in Mandi District in Himachal Pradesh, this town is sacred to 3 different religions namely, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. Putting aside religion, the lake here is sacred to one and all. Sikhs make pilgrimages here at the Gurudwara because it is believed that Guru Gobind Singhji visited Rewalsar. Likewise for the Hindus, it’s believed that Guru Padmasambhava was actually a form of a local revered rishi or saint. For Buddhists it is the lake in which Guru Padmasambhava resides; in the form of a lotus. Rewalsar stands testimony to the faith of people who come here to offer their prayers and wishes.

The lake is a beautiful green and is pristine, with lotuses springing up here and there. The lake is filled with carp and other fish; one can enjoy seeing the carp leap out of the water every once in a while. Without further ado, let’s look at some amazing pictures of rewalsar
